My Danfo Chronicles 1: How I was almost kidnapped.

I was almost kidnapped yesterday. I knew I would start this segment, but I didn't know I would write something with regards to my Danfo experiences today.

Hey GWB community, how are you guys doing? What's happening in your area today? Well, I thank God that I'm alive and healthy.

Yesterday was a very hectic day for me. I got home by few minutes to 11pm or so. I was exhausted. My job is fun, don't get me wrong. It's the coolest job ever and your favourite baby girl is not ready to leave anytime soon, but the journey to work is a long and tiring one. Let's not forget the fact that they hype the t-fare at night. You already know you have to pay because you have no other option. I have had so many Danfo experiences. This is not my first time of using a Danfo o. I was born in Lagos and  I've lived in Lagos for many years, but I think this year, the experiences have been  memorable. The most memorable experience I had last year was when a conductor made away with my change, #900. The man broke my heart. At night, I follow the staff bus. Now, I use Danfo every time.

So, I was saying I was almost kidnapped yesterday. I really mean this. After work yesterday, I got to Ikeja Along. I got on a bus that was heading to Cele because I was tired of waiting for a Mile 2 bus as sleeping at Ikeja Along was not in my agenda. We got to Cele and I was trying to get a bus that was going to Mile 2 when this bus stopped in front of me. The conductor was screaming 'Mile 2 straight!', I got on the bus. The driver didn't take the normal route, I wasn't bothered because there are so many routes in Lagos. The bus was moving fast and I started to feel lost. I looked back and I became afraid. Guys with a kind of weird look were in the vehicle. I immediately noticed I was the only girl. I told the conductor to stop the vehicle because I wanted to come down. The guy kept telling me that we have to get to Mile 2 first. Mile 2? With these weird looking and unfriendly guys in a bus where I was the only girl? I kept shouting o. 'Oga, I no wan go Mile 2 again, stop me here!' The conductor said I must reach Mile 2 by force. The bus was still moving, I was very scared. A voice inside me started to say 'Get down from this vehicle now!' I heard that so many times. How was I supposed to get down from this moving vehicle. It's not the normal moving vehicle you know, it was moving really fast. The voice kept telling me to get down. Finally, I obeyed the voice, threw the money on the conductor and I jumped down from the bus. Guess what? I didn't sustain a scratch. I wonder what would have happened if I didn't get down from that bus. I found myself in one part of Lagos. I saw a man and I told him I was going to Mile 2 and he directed me. I asked him where I was, he said Cele. Cele ke? After the whole journey with those guys, how did I get back to Cele? Anyway, I want to thank God for saving my life.

I got home by few minutes to 11pm yesterday. There was traffic and I was stuck at a place for over 2 hours.

I always hear of these kidnappers, but this is like my first experience, I pray it will never happen again. Before you get on a bus, make sure you look at the passengers. The atmosphere is very important I think. Have you ever had a similar experience? Please, share with us. Have a beautiful Tuesday.
